For a pitch map/directions look for someone in Kelly Sports uniform or come down to the car by the field. This is our mobile office for registration/payment.

Dates The competition runs from 28th Oct-16th Dec (8 wks) and 3rd Feb-23rd March (8 wks) with 30th March as rain alternative for the finals. Enrolment is for both Term 4 2011 and Term 1 2012. The First week of competition (weather permitting) will be Friday 28th October (week 1 of term 4).

Draw & points The draw/points tables will be updated on Monday’s – check out the competition homepage after this to find the draw for the upcoming week. You will be notified of any change to the draw after Monday’s posting by email or phone. The 1st draw will go on the website on or before 17th October. Check out the competition pages from the 17th to see point’s rankings and the starting line-up.

Timing of games Youngest teams play first, (5yr olds), games run 3.30pm-6.30pm. We try and play teams at the same time each week but they may vary a little -especially in the grading weeks as teams are moved into different divisions.

Games are as follows: 2 X 13 minute halves, 1 min half time & 3 min at game change, then prize giving.

Points Win 3, Draw 2, Loose 1, Default -1. Bye given by Kelly Sports 2, Bye requested by team 0. To avoid being awarded a default Byes must be requested at least 1 week in advance – any byes requested from after the Friday preceding the week in question will count as defaults, any no-shows or significantly late arrivals will be counted as defaults.

Grading Games these are the first 3 weeks, please ensure all players and parents know this. No points are scored in the grading rounds. Promotion and/or relegation are decided from the scores of these three games. Please make sure your ref is aware of any special circumstances during these weeks – i.e. if your star player is away, if you’re deliberately fielding a weaker team. If you don’t tell us we won’t be able to grade you correctly. Girls only teams. Please ensure we are aware if your team is a girl’s only team, this helps with grading.

Registration and Payment on the day Teams must register (at the car) each week 10 mins before they are due to start. This enables us to keep the games to time. If you’re paying weekly then payment is also due at this point. Weekly subs are $30 per team to be paid by cash/cheque. Late Arrivals If a team is late to arrive/register & pay and the opposition is kept waiting, their opponents will win by default, Sorry but games have to stay on time.

8 is the maximum number of players per squad. Ring-ins may be used if/when the squad members are unavailable. Ring-ins MUST be the same age and ability as the team, or younger. Ring-ins are not allowed for play offs or finals, fair play is expected in this matter

Prize Giving MVP (most valuable player) ribbons will be awarded to 1 player from each team each week, the team manager needs to give a nomination to the ref at the end of their game, then the teams meet at the Car for presentation.

Uniform/equipment: Bibs, Balls and Refs are provided. The Bibs are to be left on pitch at the end of the game. Footwear and shin pads. Trainers or football boots are fine. Plastic moulded boots/blades are allowed - NO Metal studs – rubber screw in studs are available from Rebel Sports. Shin pads must be worn. Clothing/Jewelry sports appropriate clothing must be worn, i.e. track pants, shorts, t-shirts, jerseys. Please note it gets very cold in the wind so layers are essential – bibs will be worn over all other clothes unless teams are wearing an easily recognizable strip/team shirt. Jewelry may need to be removed/covered/hidden when asked by the referee for health and safety reasons.

Cancellation We play if we can, but weather wins sometimes – please assume your game is on unless otherwise notified.  If you don’t play you don’t pay. Details of cancellations will be posted on the website and via email as soon as the decision is made. The Cancellation Hotline from 1pm on Fridays is 972 7201 - to avoid overload please only one person from each team to ring and then pass it on.

Finals At the end of the season (March) there will be play offs and finals, all teams get to play, each member of the top 2 teams in each division will receive a trophy/medal (Division Winners and Runners up). Captains Trophies will be presented (for free) at the end of the season to teams who request them, (we will ask in February). We know children who organize their own team deserve recognition and there are parents out there who deserve it too!

PARKING Please Park thoughtfully, the gates onto the grass must be left clear in case an ambulance needs access. Please drive carefully and slowly in and out of the grounds – there are a lot of teams/children around.

Any Questions or comments at any time contact Libby or Serena on 972 7201 or at  wgtn@kellysports.co.nz
